UK automotive engine manufacturer said that a Mecwash component washing unit has eliminated weekly changes of wash solution and hours of labour time.

Mecwash Systems reported that a Honda engine automotive engine manufacturing facility has had installed an Aqua-Save Technologies component washing system Apparently it has eliminated a weekly routine of changing washing solutions and the labour costs associated with that

Meanwhile, the new Aqua-Save 30 system ran for ten weeks without a washing solution change.

The Honda engine plant in Swindon, UK, is manufacturing some 6,000 petrol and diesel engines/week.

The plant produces the full range of Civic and CR-V engines"Before the Aqua-Save unit was installed, we had to undertake weekly changes of wash solution from the manufacturing line," said Honda.

The company added: "This volume, some 1,500 litres, could require some 4h labour time to handle with clearly the machine being non-operational for that period".

"These are issues which have now been almost entirely offset by the Aqua-Save unit - the washing machine did not require cleaning in its first 10 weeks of operation".

Aqua-Save Technologies' divisional manager, Paul Jarratt, commentiing about the Hoda installation said: "The company's reputation for reliability is well-established in a highly competitive global market whilst pressures relating to processing efficiency and environmental commitment are also at the heart of its track record".

Wash solution kept clean - the design of the Aqua-Save system maintains wash solution cleanliness.

The system used at Honda uses a single aqueous cleaning station, so water is extensively re-used.

So the system only produces minimal volumes of waste for further handling or disposal.

Jarratt concluded: "We are delighted that the Aqua-Save 30 is playing a key role in this manufacturing process and helping such a prestigious organisation maintain the highest production standards.".
