Mahr Federal has launched a new Maxum III Digital Indicator, the latest update to its popular Maxum line.

Mahr Federal has launched a new Maxum III Digital Indicator, the latest update to its popular Maxum line The new Maxum III combines all the features found in the Maxum and Maxum Plus lines, and is now easy to order and set up

First introduced nearly 20 years ago, the Maxum family of Digital Indicators was the first to be widely accepted, and has been built into thousands of shop floor applications.

"Maxum was the first and most rugged digital indicator available," said George Schuetz, Director of Precision Gages for Rhode Island based Mahr Federal.

"And this new line maintains the most important feature from the original Maxum -- it's still the toughest, most shop-worthy digital indicator on the market." Ordering the Maxum III has been made easier.

Users simply choose from two measuring ranges, with or without output options.

However because of the user configurable setup feature, the Maxum III can be configured to the exact range and resolution of any previous Maxum product sold.

"This means that operators will be comfortable with a new indicator that works and looks like the Maxum they have been using for nearly 20 years," Schuetz said.

User setup features include switchable inch/mm, selectable digital resolution, analog display range, dynamic measuring functions, tolerances and measuring direction.

Since all models are supplied with a dial kit that allows the user to configure the scale to look exactly like previously supplied units, it is both easy to order and easy to implement new or existing digital indicator applications.

A commercially available battery provides over two years of shop use and is accessible through a battery door for easy replacement.

An auto power-down feature helps to extend battery life by depowering the unit when not in use.

The zero based transducer never loses it reference point and maintains the last zero reading when measuring resumes.

All Maxum III indicators continue to be IP54 rated for water resistance, part of the Maxum line's long established reputation for shop-worthiness.

Maxum III also continues to be the only digital indicator with a line of remote transducers.

Available with either a canister or pencil probe, Maxum III transducers can be buried in gaging fixtures while the display remains front and center to the operator.

Options for the Maxum III include data output in three configurations: Classic Maxum, Digimatic, and ASCII for all existing data collection applications.

Factory setup features include remote battery power and lockout of setup features, providing the most secure operation on the shop floor.

Maxum III standard measuring ranges include versions for +/-0.040"/1".

"00 mm or +/-0".

"100"/+/-1.99 mm.

Resolution selections include 0.0005"/0".

"0001"/0.00005"/ 0".

"00002" (0.005 mm/0.001 mm/0.0001 mm/0.0005 mm).

All Maxum III units can be calibrated by the user for easy recertification and fast turnaround.
