EMS Radio, Fire and Security Systems of Herne Bay, UK, a manufacturer of wireless systems for security and fire protection, has bought a MY100DX pick-and-place machine from Mydata.

Its aim was to solve the problem of significantly expanding its PCB production capacity without increasing the size of its manufacturing plant.

The machine, which combines versatility and fast changeovers with a placing capacity of 34,000 components per hour (cph), replaced an existing Mydata MY12e machine.

Chris Mulvihill, manufacturing director of EMS RF and SS, said: 'The MY100DX is virtually a plug-and-play replacement for the MY12e, but gives an immediate increase in production capacity of more than 60 per cent.

As an aid to financing the MY100DX machine, EMS RF and SS took advantage of the part-exchange scheme operated by Mydata.

This scheme enables Mydata customers to benefit from the low depreciation rate of Mydata products.
