Plastics film protects automobile bodies

A Novacel product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Aug 31, 2007

A reclamable opaque white plastic film protects automobile bodies and parts against external aggressions (such as acid rain, bird droppings, and tool marks) during assembly, transport, and storage.

Producer of surface protection films, Novacel, has introduced its Novaguard 9377 opaque white plastic film.

The film protects automobile bodies and parts against external aggressions (such as acid rain, bird droppings, and tool marks) during assembly, transport, and storage.

The film and its packaging can be reclaimed safely, said Novacel.

Based on polyolefins, Novaguard 9377 uses a solvent-free adhesive, so it needs no treatment of discharges into the atmosphere.

As long as it is not soiled during use, it can be reclaimed through incineration or recycled.

In addition, all of the packaging materials and cores can be recycled or re-used.

This film is 2.4 mil (60 micron) thick and is available in 656ft (200m) reels, in widths ranging from 1.2in (30mm) to 9ft (2800mm).

It has a nine-month exterior weather resistance.

Novacel is also committed to an approach geared to obtaining ISO 14001 environmental management systems certification in the near future.
