The American Society of Mechanical Engineers will sponsor the International Association for the Engineering Analysis Community's World Congress 2007 in Candada.

NAFEMS, The International Association for the Engineering Analysis Community, has announced that ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) will sponsor the upcoming NAFEMS World Congress 2007, in Vancouver, Canada The Congress, to be held from May 22-25, is the only international event dedicated to simulation and analysis technology, drawing presenters and attendees from around the globe

ASME will participate in a number of congress sessions, providing panelists and speakers in several tracks.

Tim Morris, CEO of NAFEMS, commented, "This agreement with ASME further demonstrates that the NAFEMS World Congress is the premiere international event in the analysis world".

"We are delighted to be working with ASME towards making this event the largest and most successful conference in the simulation calendar." Founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, today's ASME is a 120,000-member professional organization focused on technical, educational and research issues of the worldwide engineering and technology community.

With this announcement, combined with additional sponsorship from the AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics), the NAFEMS World Congress 2007 will be the largest independent international conference, focusing specifically on analysis and simulation, held so far.

"Having the support of two major associations such as ASME and AIAA is a powerful reminder of the increasing importance of simulation and analysis in the engineering world," said Morris.

"NAFEMS has a vital role to play in the implementation of best practice and standards in all areas of analysis, and as an independent, not-for-profit association, partnerships with institutes and societies such as these can only benefit analysts and design engineers in their day to day work and professional development." With as many as five parallel sessions running over three days, the Congress is sure to provide great benefit to all those involved in simulation, FEA, CFD, MBS and CAD/CAM.

The Congress will bring together world leading industrial practitioners, consultancies, academic researchers and software developers with a common interest in engineering analysis.

NAFEMS are also delighted to have SIMULIA as Principal Sponsors of the 2007 Congress.

As well as the traditional conference sessions, the Congress this year will also include a series of other events which have been especially selected for the benefits that they can bring to the delegates.

A variety of workshops, round table discussion sessions and other meetings will add to the mix of opportunities that are provided for learning about the latest developments in the technology, and how they can be applied to real world practical applications.

Morris added, "We are confident that the 2007 NAFEMS World Congress will be the International Congress of the year on Simulation Technology for the Engineering Analysis Community." The World Congress will give attendees access to a comprehensive programme of training courses, workshops, seminars and meetings, which are open to all.

These include sessions on Multiphysics, High Performance Computing, Simulation Education and Model Quality, as well as courses on Advanced FEA and Verification and Validation.

The preliminary agenda can be downloaded from the Congress website at , with further details and registration also available.
