Digital encoders and DROs designed to reduce costs
Several major new developments in linear encoder and readout technology are aimed at reducing costs for machine tool builders and systems integrators.
Equipment as diverse as presses and grinding machines can be fitted by combining the SA100 with a wide range of linear encoders, including Newall Microsyn Digital and Spherosyn Digital, to accept differential quadrature TTL signals; while resolution settings ranging from 0.1æm to 10æm further contribute to its suitability for use in a diversity of applications from glass gratings to laser inputs.
The SA100 can also be easily combined with Magnasyn tape (a flexible tape scale) making it ideal for sawing applications, woodworking machines and marking-out tables.
Housed in an attractive, rugged die-cast chassis with a wipe-clean, tactile feedback front panel, the SA100 offers outstanding panel clarity.
In addition to scale factoring, linear compensation, axis resolution, head fail detection, standard inch/metric and reference functions, the rotary version of the SA100 - the SA100-R - features automatic calibration.
Both the SA100 and SA100-R are available in panel-mounted and standard enclosure versions, and use an optional external mains AC adapter.
