Advanced CNC automatic lathe gets UK premiere

A Citizen Machinery UK product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Aug 30, 2002

CNC sliding head automatic lathe, featuring a Y-axis driven turret cross feed for turning and milling parts from 32mm bar, will be premiered at a UK Open Day prior to its debut at the JIMTOF.

NC Engineering is to stage the exclusive UK premiere of the latest Citizen M32 CNC sliding head automatic lathe prior to its official world launch at JIMTOF Exhibition in Japan.

Visitors to the NC Open House on 24-26 September in Watford will see how the 14-axis Citizen M32 - which features a Y-axis cross feed to the turret - is capable of unrivalled production flexibility on mill/turn applications for parts up to 32 mm diameter.

A further 10 machines are being demonstrated at the Open House being staged at the prestigious Park Avenue headquarters of NC Engineering.

Included in the line-up is the latest C16, which, with two additional axes, is now able to accommodate helical milling and in-cycle machining of features set at an angle to the component centre line.

Like the M32, the C16 is able to achieve shorter cycle times by performing three-tool simultaneous cutting.

Also on show, the Citizen Boley B20 combines the capability of Citizen CNC sliding head machines in a fixed head configuration, which enables a high productivity quality lathe to be available at a lower price.

NC Engineering's 2,000 psi Cool Blaster high pressure coolant system and the Citizen off-line programming system are being demonstrated too, and visitors will be able to view the stock of 'Production Proven' lathes at the new demonstration facility alongside the main showroom.
