Sliding head auto offers more flexible
setting-up

Higher rigidity with a larger driven tool capability, increased tool capacity and more flexible setting options will enable CNC auto lathe cycle times to be reduced further.

Higher rigidity with a larger driven tool capability, increased tool capacity and more flexible setting options will enable machining cycle times to be reduced further on the international top selling Citizen L-Series of CNC sliding head automatic lathes The machine is now able to accommodate more complex mill/turned parts up to 20mm diameter involving simultaneous machining with up to three tools

Now designated L20 Type VIII and available from NC Engineering of Watford, the improved specification machine is now able to carry up to 21 tools.

Five tools are reserved for turning, seven driven tools are available for front machining and three live tools each for internal back and front operations and back machining.

In line with the improved operational flexibility, a new driven three tool spindle can be interchanged with three front face cutting tools simply by turning the unit through 90 (degrees).

In addition, a cross-spindle can be designated for additional turning tasks by utilising a special Citizen adapter unit.

As part of the improvements in rigidity of the machine and to accommodate the 25 per cent increase for the power of the driven tools to 1kW, which enables tools up to 8mm to be accommodated, the axis slideway casting incorporates a heavier design with new methods of clamping the driven tools.

The fully servo-controlled L20 Type VIII has a machining length of 200mm and a 20 to 10,000 revs/min 3.7kW spindle drive.

The back spindle has a 1.5kW, 200 to 8,000 revs/min motor.

Driven tool speeds are fully programmable between 200 and 4,500 revs/min. Request a free brochure from Citizen Machinery UK ...
