Pump designed to handle waste and
sludges better
The Netzsch Silo Pump, which is equipped with a hopper and feeding screw, is designed to handle waste and sludges with a high solids content
Typically, about one third of all sludge is used in agriculture and up to 60% disposed of on waste sites after mechanical drainage However, legislation is increasingly restricting the disposal of residential waste containing more than 5% organic parts on municipal waste sites and the need for alternative disposal methods, such as incineration, is growing

To meet the demand for more appropriate conditioning processes, Netzsch Pumps has come up with an innovative solution to the problem of pumping and metering dehydrated sewage sludges from tower silos to drying and combustion plants.
The Netzsch Silo Pump, which is equipped with a hopper and feeding screw, is designed to handle waste and sludges with a high solids content.
Its patented feeding screw guarantees high flow rates, reduced operating cost and continuous operation by eliminating bridging in the hopper.
It also generates filling ratios up to 50% higher than other designs.
The special rotor geometry guarantees virtually pulse-free pumping of fluids and, combined with the optimal layout of the rotor/stator system, achieves flow rates of up to 40 m3/h and pressures up to 24 bar - even in long pipelines and with a dry solids content of up to 40%.
The Silo Pump is integrated into the base of the silo forming a completely sealed, non-spilling unit which, due to the enhanced feeding screw performance, does not require an additional discharge system.
The sealing and adapter is easily maintained and the rotor and stator can be changed without having to remove the pump from the silo.
The long service life of rotor/stator guarantees low life cycle costs and increases the operating reliability of the Silo Pump in everyday operation.
