Compact, quiet hoist has low maintenance
needs
Monorail hoist has a very compact design and many beneficial features such as: low maintenance requirements; a proven and patented motor-brake system; reduced noise and high lift/lower speeds.
J D Neuhaus, the leading global manufacturer of air hoists, has completed delivery of eight new EH 20 monorail hoist units to an engineering company in Russia In each case, one pair will be used for BOP (blow out preventer) handling systems

Cranes work in hazardous environments
Cranes designed for safe operation, in the chemical industry or wherever the lifting or transportation of loads in hazardous atmospheres are envisaged, can be supplied by J D Neuhaus.
Ultra-low headroom on chain hoists
A range of monorail mounted chain hoists from J D Neuhaus minimise the 'dead space' between the underside of the monorail track and the load point of the carrying hook
With a manufacturing sector that is going from strength to strength, Russian engineering firms have much to gain from the deployment of reliable, robust and fast material handling systems manufactured by J D Neuhaus.
The new EH 20 monorail hoist has a very compact design (housing two driving mechanisms instead of the previous four) and has many beneficial features such as: low maintenance requirements; a proven and patented motor-brake system; reduced noise levels; high lifting/lowering speeds; an emergency valve in the main air supply; and newly designed overload protection.
The 20 tonne capacity hoist has a lifting/lowering speed of between 0.7 and 1.6m/min depending on load, with a travel speed of between 12 and 13.5m/min depending on load.
The innovative motor-brake system is capable of holding the load safely in any position even in the event of air interruption.
Such is the success of the new EH 20 that EH 16, EH 12 and EH 10 models are currently in development.
In general, monorail hoists from J D Neuhaus are suitable for use in both on and offshore operations for the oil and gas industries.
Dependent on the application, they can be deployed as double lifting gear, as in BOP handling systems, or used working in tandem as synchronised hoists connected by a coupling rod.
This latter configuration is particularly useful for handling grinding rollers in the cement industry.
The hoists are ideal for use in hazardous or extreme temperature environments and are operational between -20 and +70 deg C.
This opens up the areas of application to include mining, the chemical industry and power plants among others.
For exceptionally dangerous areas, the hoists can also be specified with additional protection against metallic sparking.
