Increase productivity from existing machines
If UK manufacturing companies are keen to increase productivity and output, they must move away from age-old methods and processes in work- and tool- holding when using metal cutting machine tools.
The machine capacities are 260mm maximum tool diameter and 360mm maximum tool length.
Rapid manual positioning and automatic tool measurement are included as standard.
Device is supplied with either ISO40 or ISO50 spindles (adaptors for other sizes are available).

The esiSeT tool presetter is the only device on the market, to its specification, at its price level.
It, at the moment, has no competitor - or competitive sector in the industry.
Presetters currently fall into two categories: 1 - Very basic budget units (vernier style).
2 - Very advanced fully functioned units (camera systems).
Most factories have basic units in use for their machine tools and production systems, however, advanced presetters are a different matter.
Their application is limited as they tend to require considerable investment and justification on the customers part.
The esiSeT is a budget presetter that, in itself, offers features and benefits of higher specification devices at a price that places it within the budget unit sector.
There is really no need for customers to have to justify the purchase of our esiSeT presetter.
The esiSeT is designed to be as operator friendly as it can be.
The user interface has been designed to allow 'self training'.
Digital presetters normally require installation and on-site training of operators.
The esiSeT is supplied stand-alone.
No training is required.
The interface is icon driven and the functions can be quickly interpreted by any operator at any level.
Granite construction and mechanical accuracies also makes the presetter unique in the market.
Normal practice is to use software to control accuracies by applying compensation factors for any errors.
The esiSeT is mechanically and physically accurate from the day of assembly - absolutely no software compensation is required.
This construction and design, at the price bracket into which it falls, is completely unheard of in the industry.
* Machine construction - granite construction has been standard in the range of Elbo Controlli presetters that have been sold and supported by Nikken for the last three years.
This proven construction system provides accuracy and repeatability that is second to none (similar to the technology used on CMMs).
The camera system is a completely new development with touch screen technology - however, again this is a development of our existing industry proven camera systems.
All camera components are exclusively designed for the presetting application - no other competitor uses their own components, instead adopting standard components that are available across the market place.
The whole movement mechanism, again our own technology, is proven in the field as the esiSeT adopts the system currently in use across our existing range of tool presetters.
* Achieving cost reductions - presetting in itself enhances the productivity of any manufacturing system by bringing the tool setting operations outside the cutting area.
Productivity is based on machine tools cutting metal - not setting tools.
The industry standard, offered by most machine tool builders, is to probe/measure the tools in the machine? Online probing systems are limited to the machine onto which they are installed with valuable production time lost whilst the tool measurement takes place.
A tool presetter is a stand-alone device that can serve many machine tools from one single investment - probing systems require considerable investment with every machine tool they are to be used on, in fact adding to manufacturing costs with tool setting resulting in lost production time.
Tool presetting machines, for some reason, have always been a hard investment to justify - it is a very difficult task to convince consumers that there are benefits and savings to be made.
Also, the latest developments in presetting technology tend to come at a cost.
Most standard units currently retail between GBP 6,000 and GBP 12,000 in the UK.
The esiSeT is designed to completely quash this argument.
At just under GBP 3,000 the device is priced at a similar level to online probing systems (also considerably cheaper than equivalent tool presetting machines) and will of course serve more than one machine tool.
Presetting offline is the only method to achieve 100% productivity - The Nikken esiSeT is designed solely for this goal.
* Maintenance - the esiSeT is designed to be completely maintenance free.
All the mechanical components are factory sealed for the life of the unit.
The construction is sound, proven and completely reliable - as many customers have and will testify.
Quality products and support is, and always has been, the no1 priority of Nikken UK - our corporate identity reinforces this goal with the term 'Where You Come First' now part of our branding and worldwide image.
* Technology - esiSeT combines existing proven technology with the latest developments in our camera systems.
The production process is also a radical departure with the devices being assembled, tested and inspected in a brand new factory, using new processes, all housed within a revolutionary new production environment.
These innovative processes have allowed the costs to be kept to a minimum thus reducing the initial investment to the customer.
This low cost makes the return on initial investment incredibly easy to justify whereas before the return was a major hurdle to overcome.
