Video measurement helps reduce fine
tolerances

A video measuring system is gaining invaluable data for a medical device manufacturer to ensure tolerances are reduced to +/-0.001mm for a variety of crucial components in speciality medical devices.

At MDT '06, Nikon will be demonstrating why companies such as Bespak, Clamason and Vygon rely on advanced video measuring systems and high performance stereo microscopes from Nikon Instruments to ensure the quality of their medical device components By using a Nikon NEXIV VMR 6555 video measuring system, Bespak is gaining invaluable data in its quest to ensure tolerances down to +/-0.001mm are met for a variety of crucial components destined for its speciality medical devices

With the help of a NEXIV VMR 3020 video measuring system, Clamason can now check small, tightly toleranced parts, yet still maintain production levels of up to 800 parts per minute.

This means Europe's leading manufacturer of precision metal pressings can closely monitor the quality of its output of complex components for medical devices without compromising its delivery times.

Thanks to the acquisition of a Nikon SMZ 800 stereo zoom microscope, complete with a Digital Sight-5M digital camera, Vygon, a leading UK provider of single use medical and surgical products can now be confident in its commitment to inspect returned products and provide a comprehensive report with 24 hours of receipt.

Examples from the NEXIV, SMZ and DS range will be on show, in addition to the recently launched LV Series of industrial microscopes. Request a free brochure from Nikon UK ...
