Poison in Morris Designs Identified
Niton has identified poisonous pigments in famous William Morris designs, its analyser identifying arsenic, lead, chromium and mercury.
Additionally, the XLt 898S is supplied with an S detector, normally only available as an additional cost option.
This detector provides increased sensitivity for a range of trace elements including chromium, copper, nickel and molybdenum.
Niton UK's sales and marketing director, Michael Sibbald, said: "This special offer applies while stocks last.

The instrument's small size, ruggedness and ease of use enable it to be used in a wide range of demanding applications from simple metal sorting through to sophisticated elemental soil analysis and decontamination control.
Industries include petrochemicals, aerospace, power generation, turbine manufacture and repair, primary and secondary metal production as well as scrap metal recycling.
* X-ray fluorescence - the alloy analysers operate on the principle of X-ray fluorescence.
They use X-rays to excite the atoms in the sample and measures the fluorescent X-rays re-emitted by the material.
From this they then rapidly determine the elements present as well as their relative concentrations, said Niton.
For samples with known ranges of chemical composition, such as common grades of metal alloys, the analysers can also quickly identify most sample types by name.
