Similarities of manufacture in gravity sand casting and moulding rigid polyurethane, gives Norse Precision Castings the versatility to work in plastic and metal Many products well within their manufacturing capability in either material, both are based on low cost tooling which is normally available quickly

Aluminium however offers better temperature stability, useful for some export markets.

With all the details in-house, Norse Precision Castings are able to trial both materials.

The design team at Norse Precision often recognise the optimum material, "Many have come in for one and gone out with the other" says Colin Steed, Managing Director.

Inserts such as threads and bearing surfaces can be placed in either material without difficulty but the absence of high temperatures during the polyurethane process means more delicate items can be encapsulated without risk of damage.

The variety of finishes available preserve the choice.
