Industrial transfer system cost lowered
With the launch of a revolutionary new linear motion bearing, the means is there for taking cost out of industrial transfer and product transportation systems and raising capacity.
With the launch of its revolutionary new Translide linear motion bearings, NSK is equipping OEM's with the means for taking cost out of industrial transfer and product transportation systems, while at the same time providing higher capacity operation and longer term maintenance free operation The combination of Translide's fully sealed, high load construction and maintenance free operation means that the linear bearings are ideally suited to a wide range of transfer and transportation tasks in automotive manufacture, machine tools, tyre manufacturing, woodworking, materials handling - and many more

Guide helps on specifying bearing replacements
When overhauling older machinery, a problem may arise over replacing obsolete bearings, but NSK's 'Bearing Replacement Guide' suggests current bearings that can do the job.
In these industries a robust, cost effective design, integrating larger ball rolling elements and an elongated slider, ensures not only higher dynamic load capacity, but also longer life.
Importantly, the design also ensures that load capacity - and - stiffness remain constant in all directions (upward, downward and lateral) due to a 45o contact angle of the balls on the ball rail.
To ensure that the Translide units provide continuous reliable operation under most types of operating conditions, they are equipped with a very high performance sealing system, comprising inner seal and bottom seal and dust tight end seals.

Complementing this system is the facility for mounting the Translide rail from underneath the unit.
This ensures additional protection against the ingress of dust.
Another major contributor to Translide's high levels of reliability - and the reason for the linear bearing's long-term maintenance free operation - is NSK's K1 lubrication unit.
The K1 is made from a radical new material, called "Molded Oil" which is a plastic containing lubricating oil.
Differing from other marketed oil impregnated plastics, where the oil content is a mere few percent by weight, Molded Oil permits a lubricating oil content of up to 70% by weight.
The K1 lubrication unit was developed to enable linear bearings, guides and ball screws to take advantage of Molded Oil.
It offers users considerable operating advantages, such as: • Consistent lubrication, which extends maintenance free periods, even under heavy loads and in the presence of contaminants.
• Extended lubricant life, outperforming forced oil lubrication.
• Environmental and maintenance costs related to the supply and disposal of forced oil lubricants are eliminated.
The Translide linear bearings, complete with comprehensive sealing and K1 lubrication, are available in three nominal rail sizes of 25mm, 30mm and 35mm.
Maximum single rail lengths for these sizes extend up to 4040mm and maximum dynamic load capacities range from 16.7kN to 35.9kN. Request a free brochure from NSK UK ...
