Ceramic inserts high speed machine Inconel
Ceramic cutting tool inserts has been introduced for machining 'exotic' alloys such as the high speed machining of Inconel 718 providing exceptional reductions in machining cycle time.
Cutting at phenomenal speeds up to 1000m/min, the HW2 insert is ideal for high speed roughing, finishing and even interrupted cutting of cast iron.
The insert has exceptional strength and fracture toughness to guarantee fewer brittle fractures and significantly improved tool life, making it a low cost alternative to silicon nitride ceramics.
The ground breaking aluminium oxide ceramic insert is strengthened with the addition of Zirconia.

Longer life ceramic insert cuts grey cast irons
High performance insert is ideal for interrupted cutting and finishing of grey cast iron as well as roughing and finishing operations with special cast iron and liner materials.
Grooving system has variety of toolholders
A groove tooling system is available with a variety of toolholder shank sizes, insert shapes and groove widths for most types of CNC automatic lathes, small CNC tlathes and sliding head automatics.
Unlike conventional aluminium oxide ceramic, the HW2 grade is easily identified by its unusual pink colouring.
As attractive as the pink insert; visitors were drawn to the WA1 aluminium oxide ceramic insert.
Specifically designed for the aerospace industry, the WA1 is reinforced with silicon carbide whiskers enabling it to cut ten times faster than carbide tooling.
The very high breaking strength of the WA1 make it ideal for machining aerospace alloys such as Titanium and Inconel 718.
This dynamic product can completely transform the production method and cost for aerospace machining.
The new HC7 titanium nitride ceramic insert was another product that generated considerable interest at EMO.
Making its European debut, the HC7 is a very fine grain black insert with an ultra hard skin and tough core obtained through improved sintering techniques.
Also available as a coated version - the ZC7 is capable of machining parts up to 60Rc.
Considered a low cost alternative to grinding at approximately a 1/20th the cost of CBN, the ZC7 and the HC7 both proved crowd pleasers at the show.
Used in the automotive and bearing industries, the inserts are capable of cutting at speeds up to 200m/min.
Completing the range of exceptional new products on show at EMO was the new B16 solid type cubic boron nitride insert.
Used in hard part machining applications and for high speed machining of cast iron, its increased CBN content and ultra strong binding material has produced a tough yet super-hard material.
Its multi corner use and extended cutting edge enables greater depths of cut.
A specific coating has been added to the B16 to allow improved swarf flow and identification of used corners.
