Product catalogue shows the way to access over 5,000 in-house stock lines of sheet metal fasteners and special-purpose turned and cold formed parts.

By clearly showing how its vast range of over 5,000 in-house stock lines of sheet metal fasteners are RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant, Northern Precision's latest product catalogue sets a new 'benchmark' in the way fasteners are described and can be selected from this independent market-leading single-source supplier of fasteners as well as special-purpose turned and cold formed parts The full colour, 40-page fastener catalogue contains detailed technical drawings, specifications and photographs illustrating the comprehensive ranges available - and that each product is RoHS-compliant is prominently stated

In addition, the new catalogue contains many technical diagrams, photographs and application guides for each product series in addition to part number guidelines for easy ordering - most are available for next-day delivery.

The European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive controls the use of specified hazardous substances in electronic and electrical equipment and vehicles.

The materials specified are lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and certain flame retardants used in plastics.

As a producer and supplier of fasteners for use throughout the sheet metal fabrication and electronics industries Northern Precision is, said sales director Steve Smith, committed to RoHS compliancy and fully supports customers' compliance.

In terms of the use of lead, some turned components supplied by Northern Precision may contain lead as an alloying agent, specifically parts manufactured from EN1a Pb leaded steel (230M07 Pb).

However, these fall within the Directive guidelines by containing no more than 0.35% lead by weight.

Detailed product specifications in the new brochure cover each available fastener type: self-clinching, high-strength and broaching fasteners; rivet bushes; sheet nuts; weld nuts, studs and spade tags; cage nuts; and blind rivets.

The informative installation guides and tooling sections embrace, for example, the Prima Inserter installation press as well as the Rivedrill and Nutdrill attachments.

These convert cordless and electric drills into a blind rivet or sheet nut placement tool at low cost.

In addition, the informative 'Do's and Don'ts' section for the installation of self-clinch products will benefit every fastener user.

The catalogue also shows the direct links to the Northern Precision Web site for the specific data required.
