New ampoule transfer system saving
Newman Labelling Systems, a leading supplier of pharmaceutical labelling systems, has launched the Ampoule Transfer System (ATS), designed to ensure smooth on-line operation of ampoule labelling.
Glass ampoules are still a significant and effective form of sterile packaging for injectable products, but they are notoriously difficult to handle due to their dimensions and instability, especially at the ever increasing production speeds now demanded After ampoules have been filled, sealed and passed through the inspection system, they are usually placed on to trays and manually transferred to the labelling equipment, but this is both time consuming and costly

Low-Cost Tray To Tray Labelling For Containers
Newman Labelling Systems has launched a new low-cost tray to tray labelling system - the 4VAL - for unstable containers, such as ampoules, vials, syringes and cartridges.
The traditional automated alternatives available typically utilise a synchronised screw transfer system, but these are prone to ampoule breakage, have high change part costs and involve a lengthy changeover time.
Newman's new ATS removes the need to manually transfer the ampoules to the labelling machine or to use a synchronised screw transfer system.
At each stage of the transfer process ampoules are delicately handled without the need for synchronised starwheels to feed screws, ensuring ampoule breakage is eliminated, whilst at the same time providing an accumulation buffer between the labelling system and inspection equipment.
Such a design not only prevents wastage from damaged product, but also reduces the security and health risks associated with manual handling.
Furthermore, down time caused by having to clear up broken product is dramatically reduced - especially good news for busy lines.
The ATS is now proven in production at speeds of over 500 ampoules per minute and can be used with ampoules sizes from 1ml to 20ml.
It is also suitable for use with glass vials and similar small cylindrical containers.
Available exclusively from Newman Labelling Systems, the ATS is a modular option to the Newman VAL550 high speed vial and ampoule labelling system.
