Spatter shield reduces welding down time
By atomising a unique fluid into the shielding gas flow, an in-line system reduces the effect of spatter adhesion, on the business end of the MIG torch, and the surrounding welded area.
A break through in welding technology; Spatter Shield is an in-line system which, by atomising a unique fluid into the shielding gas flow, reduces the effect of spatter adhesion, on the business end of the MIG torch, and the surrounding welded area The result being; less time wasted on the cleaning and finishing of the weld application, and when Spatter Shield is utilised within optimum parameters, Spatter Shield can extend the life of the torch nozzle by up to 4.5 times, and the contact tip by up to 6 times

Roll Containers said;" We have not had to replace any gas nozzles at all for the past 5 weeks, and we have noticed an extended life of our contact tips as the Spatter Shield protects the body and the face.
It is certainly saving us many Pounds in all of our welding related costs and is at least 40% more effective than our conventional methods of spatter removal".
Principal Engineer Steve Parkes-Welding Materials comments that: "We have always had a problem with spatter build up in our gas nozzles and have regular stoppages for nozzle clean-down to prevent porosity rejects.Various anti-spatter systems have been tried including oil and nozzle protective sprays. With an extended trial using Spatter Shield the clean down times have been reduced by some 50%.
Spatter Shield has been very successful for our application and we are in the process of converting all of our assembly welding machines over to this system".
The Spatter Shield unit consists of 2 components, a probe and a fluid dispenser, and it fits into the existing system.
The fluid is compatible with CO2, Argon, Argon Based Mixtures, Helium, Hydrogen and is suitable for: carbon steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel, cast iron, silicon bronze welding and hard facing.
Spatter Shield fits easily on all standard manual MIG and robot welders and when it comes to reductions in downtime and savings at the bottom line - -.
