Moving bridge 5-axis high speed miller
is compact
A high speed milling machine specifically for machining resin, modelboard and plastics to high levels of accuracy uses a moving bridge design to take up minimum floor space.
The Paso Porta high speed milling machine is now available in the " Modeller -5 axis" version specifically for machining resin, modelboard, plastics etc to high levels of accuracy The Porta " Modeller-5 axis" is available with a working envelope up to 2300x1000x600mm yet has a very compact footprint due to the special fixed table, moving bridge design

Bridge-type VMC design offers more Y-axis travel
Larger Y-axis strokes than is usual on the average vertical machining centre are offered by a UK agent, which is bringing in a range of attractively priced Italian bridge-type models.
Machines come complete with either a built-in vacuum clamping table or a tee-slot table and can be optionally supplied with a dust extraction system.
In addition to a complete set of way covers, the machine structure and bearing ways are air-pressurised for maximum dust protection.
All Porta machines are true high speed milling machines with the dynamic agility to contour mill at feedrates up to 20m/min whilst retaining extremely high accuracy.
The 30,000rpm spindle can be fully utilized to make machining at double figure feedrates the norm for many applications.
The tilting head unit is the same as is used on steel cutting Porta models and the precision of the " Modeller -5 axis" clearly sets it apart from high speed CNC routers.
Despite these advantages, the " Modeller -5 axis" is competitively priced against 5 axis routers and considerably less than the equivalent capacity high speed milling machine.
A range of high performance controls are available to efficiently manage CAD/CAM generated programs, all having ethernet capability, large memory capacity, fast processors and HSM software.
The"Modeller-5 axis" version is an addition to the normal PORTA range used for machining aluminium, steel and graphite components.
