Gas-cooled orbital weld head is 41.5mm
wide
Capable of welding tube of 114.3mm diameter, a narrow,gas-cooled welding head is just 41.5mm wide and offers a high duty cycle performance equivalent to that of water-cooled heads.
Enclosed, gas-cooled 'narrow' orbital welding heads has overcome the traditional problems associated with such heads and has a high welding duty cycle equivalent to that of water-cooled heads, said Orbitec Based in Derby, UK, Orbitec has introduced three types of its 'narrow' OSK-G orbital welding heads

Orbital pipe welding equipment can be hired
Covering pipework diameters up to 325mm diameter, orbital welding systems can be hired can be hired on a daily, weekly or monthly basis and full support is given.
The OSK115G type is just 41.5mm wide (about 1.5/8in), yet will weld tubes of diameter 114.3mm (4.5in).
Orbitec claimed it is the narowest of its kind on the market.
The three gas-cooled orbital heads in the OSK-G range are as follows.
* OSK53G - tube diameters 6mm-53mm (0.25-2.09in).
* OSK76G - tube diameters 6mm-76.2mm (0.25-3.0in).
* OSK115G - tube diameters 8mm-114.3mm (0.32-4.5in).
Orbitec advised it will be introducing its OSK25G and OSK38G types shortly.
All operate from one OSK-G gas-cooled handle assembly.
The user can exchange weld head 'cassettes' quickly.
There are options of analogue or digital handles so that the same welding heads can be used for all orbital welding systems made by any supplier.
Orbitec said the OSK-G weld heads can be used in fabricating tube assemblies for pharmaceutical, biotech, electronics, aerospace, food and beverage, breweries and so on.
