Gao Tek unveils gain adjustable WiFi RFID reader

Gao Tek has released a 2.45GHz gain adjustable active WiFi RFID reader (Gao 217002).

The WiFi reader utilises a 0.18um Cmos IC for ultra-low power consumption and adheres to the 802.11b wireless communication standard.

As it is designed to operate in the unlicensed 2.45GHz band, the gain adjustable reader can be deployed in any environment.

This model has a built-in omni-directional antenna that can identify RFID transponder tagged items up to 100m in all directions and up to 100 tags can be read per second.

However, as the WiFi reader is gain adjustable, users can adjust the read distance from anywhere between less than 5m and up to 100m in accordance with situational needs.

This active reader also features dual operating modes allowing for data uploading in real time or data buffering for later retrieval.

Specifications include: an output power of 0dBm; sensitivity of -90dBm; power is 50mA, 9V; buff capacity of 800 messages; data rate is 1Mbps; and an operating temperature of -40C to 80C.
