Measuring system is contact and non-contact

An OGP product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Mar 13, 2008

Measuring system performs full 4-axis part measurement using a combination of video, touch probe, micro-probe and optional laser systems - switching between them in one set-up.

OGP UK will exhibit at MACH 2008, its SmartScope Vantage 300 and the SmartScope Flash 200 combined contact/non-contact measuring systems.

The SmartScope Vantage 300 performs 'no-compromise'.

full 4-axis part measurement using a combination of video, touch probe, micro-probe and optional laser.

It switches reliably between the different measurement systems during the same set-up.

The machine' features an elevated bridge that provides the necessary stability and rigidity to guarantee accurate, reliable and repeatable measurements.

OGP's full 3D MeasureMind metrology software and data can be ported seamlessly to OGP's suite of analysis packages such as MeasureFit 3D for surface to CAD analysis, or output in IGES format for reverse engineering to CAD.

* Automatic measurement - the SmartScope Flash 200 is the smallest member of the Flash family of fully featured automatic measurement systems.

Innovative design features include an AccuCentric 12:1 zoom lens that maintains accuracy by calibrating itself automatically with each magnification change.

Other features, such as an elevating bridge, mean the system takes up little space (less than 3m3) while still providing an ample 200 x 200 x 150mm measuring range and extensive measurement capabilities.

SmartScope Flash 200 is a multi-sensor measurement system - users can add touch and/or laser probes as required.

Patented profile illumination is provided via a fixed array of white LED lights beneath the stage glass that issue light as the optical system moves in the X-axis.

Flash also incorporates a TTL coaxial LED surface illuminator and the patented SmartRing light as standard equipment, as well as the robust yet easy-to-use Measure-X metrology software.
