OGP UK introduces Starlite 150 measuring machine

OGP UK has expanded its product range with the addition of Starlite 150: a non-contact video-based measuring machine that is suitable for gauging small parts.

The semi-automatic bench-top system, priced at GBP9,560, includes a raft of standard features designed to produce fast, accurate data and to boost the efficiency of a variety of inspection tasks.

The Starlite 150 incorporates OGP's Gage-X metrology software and a user-friendly graphical interface that makes it easy and quick to create complete inspection programs, according to the company.

In addition, the system's series of editing tools allows users to update routines at the touch of a button while images can be stored at varying magnifications for visual inspection records.

According to OGP, Starlite 150 features a combination of superior optics and patented light-emitting-diode (LED) illumination.

Its programmable, motorised 6.5:1 zoom lens delivers clear-cut images that remain in focus and on axis throughout its magnification range of 34x-176x.

OGP's Vectorlight LED white lights provide detail and contrast by pinpointing light from an infinite number of directions to detect exactly the correct features of a part.

The machine's measuring area of 150mm x 75mm x 125mm is adjusted via a pair of coaxial coarse/fine XY knobs, while the Z motion button is mounted on the front of the system for part positioning and focus.

Charlotte Anderson, OGP UK's marketing executive, said: 'This low-cost yet high-performance machine means a non-contact measurement capability is now within reach of almost any manufacturer.

The machine has expanded OGP's Starlite range, which comprises two larger models: the 200 and 250E.
