A low temperature production soldering system and an array package rework system for BGA rework operations won two prestigious SMT China Vision Awards.

Hand Soldering, Rework, Fume Extraction and Fluid Dispensing specialist OK International has walked off with two prestigious SMT China Vision Awards These accolades add to the company's recent Innovation Award from EM Asia and serve to highlight OK International's commitment to developing the Asia electronics market through product and process innovation

The SMT China Vision Awards were presented at a ceremony held at Shanghai's Everbright Convention Centre, alongside the Nepcon Shanghai show.

OK International succeeded in clinching awards for two of the 16 categories.

In the Assembly Tools category, the award was made for the company's PS-Platform Low Temperature Production Soldering System.

In the Rework and Repair category, OK International secured the award with its APR-5000 Series Array Package Rework System.

Both awards were collected in person on behalf of the company at the ceremony by OK International's Tom Seratti, global vice-president Sales and Marketing.

"These awards add to our enthusiasm at OK International for developing superior products using our advanced technologies and ergonomics skills.

Hand soldering and rework are critical manual processes which are executed far more efficiently if operators are equipped with the best tools.

That's what we strive to deliver to our customers and I'm delighted that we have now been recognized for it," said Seratti.

The PS Platform's increased heater power permits the assembly of lead-free technology without excessive tip temperatures to improve productivity in hand assembly and rework activities.

The new system is compatible with OK International's SmartHeat PowerTips, including the new line of Easy Access tips, which display reduced thermal mass for improved responsiveness.

The APR-5000 Series Array Package Rework Systems (designed for BGA rework operations) incorporate state-of-the-art vision, plus closed-loop time, temperature and airflow control.

Precision placement and powerful software make the rework of complex array packages easy, fast and reliable.

At another Awards event held alongside Nepcon Shanghai and presented by EM Asia, OK International led the Manual Soldering Equipment category with its acclaimed MFR Series being recognised for its ability to meet every production soldering, rework and desoldering requirement from a single benchtop platform.

The MFR Series features a wide range of high precision assembly tools to equip manufacturers for reliable, lead-free connections.

It is also founded on OK International's advanced SmartHeat technology.
