The latest five-axis CNC programming capabilities of hyperMILL computer-aided manufacturing software, marketed by Open Mind Technologies, will be the lead presentation at three seminars to be hosted by machining centre company, Hurco, at its High Wycombe showroom in February Key messages will be the large number of 5-axis machining strategies available within hyperMILL, allowing parts to be machined faster and often in fewer set-ups; the patented algorithms for smoothing cutter paths and achieving better surface finish, especially during high speed cutting; and the effective collision avoidance that monitors both tool and toolholder to eliminate the risk of spindle damage

There are many prestigious users of this software including DaimlerChrysler, BMW, VW, Volvo, EADS, Alessi and Goodyear.

Demonstrations will be on Hurco's first five-axis machining centre, the MXU, launched at IMTS 2002.

Visitors will be able to see CNC programs being verified and optimised using CG Tech's market leading VERICUT software and simulated using models of Hurco's machines.

Participating also at the event will be robotic tool- and work-handling equipment company, System 3R.

The events will take place on Wednesday 26th February 2003 at 10.30 am, 2.30 pm and 5.30 pm.

Those interested in attending should contact Steve DeBanks on tel: 01494 558333 or e-mail: steved@toolboxuk.com.
