Time to catch up on 5-axis machining

The latest five-axis CNC programming capabilities of CAM software will be the lead presentation at three seminars to be hosted by a leading CNC machine tool company during February.
The latest five-axis CNC programming capabilities of hyperMILL computer-aided manufacturing software, marketed by Open Mind Technologies, will be the lead presentation at three seminars to be hosted by machining centre company, Hurco, at its High Wycombe showroom in February Key messages will be the large number of 5-axis machining strategies available within hyperMILL, allowing parts to be machined faster and often in fewer set-ups; the patented algorithms for smoothing cutter paths and achieving better surface finish, especially during high speed cutting; and the effective collision avoidance that monitors both tool and toolholder to eliminate the risk of spindle damage

At a Southend-based plastic injection mouldings specialist the addition of the latest CAM software for has reduced mould lead-times by two weeks as well as increasing company capability.
