Open Mind's cunning plan for this year's 'Learning At Work Day'
Open Mind, the specialist distributor of learning resources, is suggesting two ways of celebrating 'Learning At Work Day' on 25th May.
Alun Harvey, Open Mind's managing director, commented: "Having access to over 10,000 learning resources in all forms of delivery media - from 'hi-tech' online, DVD and CD-ROM programmes, through the 'traditional' video programmes to books and audio tapes to games and ice-breaking activities - we would recommend organisations giving their staff some Management Pocketbooks or, perhaps, a 'Fit for Work' bundle of learning products.
"Management Pocketbooks are always popular in learning centres or as course handouts - and there are two new titles available: on virtual teams and teambuilding," said Harvey, whose organisation is offering all 85 titles in the Management Pocketbooks series for GBP599 - a saving of GBP76 on the retail price - or any book in the series at GBP5.99, a saving of GBP1 per book." The Fit for Work bundle from Open Mind comprises an Essential Learning DVD 'Fit For Work' containing tips on maintaining mental and physical health including giving up smoking; a Training Guide (normally GBP399); a three-CD compilation of Mood Music specially compiled for use in training, plus ten copies each of three books - 'The One Minute Manager Balances Work and Life', 'Peace of Mind is a Piece of Cake', and '301 More Ways to Have Fun At Work'.
The total retail value of this bundle is GBP704 but Open Mind's price is just GBP599.
"Learning is a vital skill for everyone," said Harvey.
"Naturally, we're anxious to encourage learning but we also want to make it a 'fun' activity - so we're happy to discuss resourcing any other learning activities that organisations may have in mind.".
