Orbital welder produces the welding procedures

An Orbimatic product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Apr 7, 2003

An automatic Procedure Generation facility in an orbital welder calculates welding parameters and the operator simply inputs them and then all welding parameters are entered into the procedure.

If you are looking for an Orbital Tube Welding Machine, which takes the strain out of producing Welding Procedures, then the Orbimat 160C is the machine for you.

This edge of technology machine has a fully automatic Procedure Generation facility which calculates welding parameters from material type, gas used, outside diameter and wall.

The operator simply inputs these details and at the press of a button all welding parameters are entered into the procedure.

The machine stores full welding procedures, which include gas type, gas flow rates, tungsten electrode diameter, grind angle and type.

There is also a facility to allow project details to be stored to the procedure.

These machines can be used for fusion or wire feed applications with no upgrades required.

A 9in LCD display presents information in a logical and easy to understand layout, this means minimal training is required for use of the system.

For customers wishing to use the equipment abroad there is a multi-lingual facility which currently covers 11 languages.

This machine will also store up to 300 welding procedures to be stored internally and this number is unlimited with the use of a standard Smart Media cards.

The extensive weld data logging facility also makes this machine very popular when welding critical pipelines for the pharmaceutical and electronics Industries with the ability to transfer data to a standard PC with not special interfacing or leads.

The unit also includes a weld head cooling system with high efficiency heat exchanger and an integral printer for producing copies of weld procedures or log files.
