Following success with a Spanish fabricator an AC/DC welding power supply that allows weld bead profile control for orbital aluminium pipe welding is now being introduced generally.
Orbimatic has introduced an AC/DC Welding Power Supply to the Orbimat range of orbital welding power supply This unit can weld with either AC or DC

Orbital welding power supply can now be supplied with an arc voltage control module, which allows the unit to be used with the a new tube to tubesheet weld head.
This allows the orbital technique to be used for welding of aluminium components.
This machine gives all the advantages of the Orbimat C range but with the addition of an AC output.
The machine also allows the AC balance and frequency to be controlled which gives the operator the ability to manipulate the weld bead profile to suit the application.
The Orbimat 300 AC can be used with any weld head from the Orbimatic range which gives capabilities from 1.6mm OD to 10in OD.
The machines were originally introduced to a customer in Spain and have been an overwhelming success with the customer having placed several repeat orders.
These units have also been introduced to the aerospace industry where they are being used for welding a range of different components.
