Ovation Engineering has released a new product that will allow manual tool wear offset adjustments to be made from outside a machining cell by use of a PC This is specifically for installations where it is not possible to position the CNC operator panel in such a way that it is accessible without disabling the automation and thereby halting production

Each of the machines in the cell are accessible from the single PC.

The user simply selects the machine on which they want to make offset adjustments.

An offset screen, similar to that on the CNC control is displayed.

For many controls, the current offset values in the wear table at the machine will be displayed, although this not all control makes will support this capability.

The user enters the changes they want to make and presses a "Send" button.

The offsets are sent to the machine and updated automatically in the background.

Installation is typically achieved using a customer supplied, Windows based PC.

The product will be available for shipment mid to late April.
