Parker Hannifin's mechanically coupled P1T rodless cylinder offers production engineers the potential to improve the performance and flexibility of pneumatic systems.
Triple vane hydraulic pump is compact
A triple vane hydraulic pump, with high pressure ratings of up to 275 bar, offers high performance and long, low maintenance service life.
The Division has worked closely with Ford since being appointed a single-source supplier in 2000.
Hydraulic power units are widely used throughout industry and typically need to be enclosed to minimise the level of factory noise.
Ford's goal was to reduce noise levels to 74dbA or lower but recognised that constructing enclosures was an expensive exercise, often costing between $15,000 and $20,000, including air circulation and ancillary systems, and removable service panels.
Working alongside Ford's managers, Parker's sales and engineering team designed an advanced hydraulic power unit capable of producing 30 USgal/min at 105 bar, from a 30kW motor, but at a noise level of just 70dbA.
The system is based on a proven positive head design, uses standard off the shelf components and integrated pressure and return filtration, and offline filtration.
In addition, the use of 'Dry' products technology such as Parker's Seal-lok tube and hose fittings and the reduction of sealed joint faces to minimize leakage paths have eliminated the need for drip trays and, more importantly, have enabled Ford to reduce the frequency of its maintenance programmes from quarterly to yearly.
