EdgeCAM approved for Solid Edge
Pathtrace has announced that EDS PLM Solutions has approved EdgeCAM as a "Certified Select Product" for Solid Edge (registered) version 12.
Pathtrace, developer of EdgeCAM (registered) computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software for programming CNC controls, announced today that EDS PLM Solutions has approved EdgeCAM as a 'Certified Select Product' for Solid Edge (registered) version 12 This Solid Edge Voyager Programme accreditation demanded extensive test procedures for compliance between EdgeCAM and Solid Edge V12

EdgeCAM Solid Machinist, utilising the EDS PLM Solutions Parasolid solid modelling kernel, works directly from the Solid Edge model without any need for data translation.
Automatic feature recognition and the addition of the new EdgeCAM Strategy Manager provide a highly automated solution for CNC programming.
Any design changes are quickly reflected in the CNC program and toolpaths can be automatically regenerated without the need for re-programming.
EdgeCAM Solid Machinist also ships with a fully supported add-in application for Solid Edge to facilitate the transfer of model geometry to EdgeCAM directly from the Solid Edge window.
