Further qualification of Pathtrace of Reading's commitment to create a CAD friendly CAM system has been won through the award of 'Certified Select Status' on the EdgeCAM Solid Machinist software.
Because EdgeCAM Solid Machinist provides full toolpath to model associativity, Autodesk Inventor parts are loaded without the need for data translation.
EdgeCAM uses Automatic Feature Recognition to interrogate the model to find machineable features.
In addition, the user is notified of any late design changes, resulting in faster design-to-manufacture time.
"Pathtrace is at the forefront in CAD/CAM interoperability," says David Boucher, Pathtrace product development director.
"Autodesk Inventor and EdgeCAM users benefit from a tightly integrated design and CAM solution, providing more cost effective manufacturing.
"We are pleased that yet again Pathtrace is at the forefront in CAD/CAM interoperability by achieving certification for Autodesk Inventor 9," said Richard Runnells, senior manager of manufacturing partner programs.
