EdgeCAM Solid Machinist has gained certification for Autodesk Inventor 9 as it provides toolpath to model associativity so Autodesk Inventor parts are loaded without the need for data translation.

EdgeCAM Solid Machinist from Pathtrace has gained certification for Autodesk Inventor 9 software As Autodesk's Global Preferred Partner for CAM, the development teams at Pathtrace and Autodesk work closely together to ensure the highest level of interoperability between EdgeCAM and Autodesk Inventor software

Because EdgeCAM Solid Machinist provides full toolpath to model associativity, Autodesk Inventor parts are loaded without the need for data translation.

EdgeCAM uses Automatic Feature Recognition to interrogate the model to find machineable features.

In addition, the user is notified of any late design changes, resulting in faster design-to-manufacture time.

"Pathtrace is at the forefront in CAD/CAM interoperability," says David Boucher, Pathtrace product development director.

"Autodesk Inventor and EdgeCAM users benefit from a tightly integrated design and CAM solution, providing more cost effective manufacturing.

"We are pleased that yet again Pathtrace is at the forefront in CAD/CAM interoperability by achieving certification for Autodesk Inventor 9," said Richard Runnells, senior manager of manufacturing partner programs.

"This commitment to the Autodesk Inventor Certified Application program further demonstrates the strength of our partnership and enhances EdgeCAM's position as the standard in solids-based machining.".
