Latest version of EdgeCAM software allows users to easily customise icons and toolbars to their individual requirements resulting in faster programming time.

Latest version of EdgeCAM software allows users to easily customise icons and toolbars to their individual requirements resulting in faster programming time Pathtrace Engineering Systems will be showing the latest version of its EdgeCAM software at Autosport Engineering 2005, being held January 13 - 14 at the NEC, Birmingham

EdgeCAM is used extensively throughout the motorsport industry where the pressure is intense in the run up to, and during the racing season, often requiring 24-hour turn around in order to meet demand.

On stand E175 (Hall19) Pathtrace will demonstrate how the latest features and functionality in EdgeCAM can improve efficiency and productivity.

EdgeCAM helps streamline manufacturing in three interconnected ways: Advanced - A state-of-the-art user interface incorporating the latest Microsoft Windows technology dynamically maximises available screen space and allows users to easily customise icons and toolbars to their individual requirements resulting in faster programming time.

Associative - EdgeCAM Solid Machinist loads part and assembly files from all leading CAD systems to generate time saving machining strategies and NC code.

Toolpaths generated in EdgeCAM remain associative to the originating CAD throughout the manufacturing process.

Automated - EdgeCAM Strategy Manager captures best practice manufacturing methods using an interactive process designed around a simple flow chart that allows machining strategies to be saved as templates for machining similar components.

EdgeCAM has more potential to add to a company's profitability than any of its competitors due to the high degree of CAD integration and flexibility in toolpath creation, providing increased productivity and rapid return on investment.

"Before we had EdgeCAM, we would have to stop the job, make the required changes and start again.

Now, when this happens, EdgeCAM recognises the changes in the 3D model, goes through an on-screen dialogue and generates the new programme.

" Joe Reynolds, Director responsible for IT, Production Engineering and Quality Director Whiteley Brooks Engineering.
