Faster roughing without compromising on quality - new roughing options enable the machine tool to run at high feedrates whilst maintaining high quality toolpaths.

Adapting the feedrate to suit material and stock conditions can save time, tool wear and money Using the new Adaptive Feedrate options of the Roughing cycle, EdgeCAM, deveoped by Pathtrace Engineering Systems, optimises the toolpath by automatically recalculating feed values depending on the width of the cut

The list of strategies available in the Roughing cycle has been extended.

The new spiral toolpath pattern keeps the tool on the part without any retract moves.

This approach avoids sudden changes in direction and allows the tool loading and amount of material being removed to remain constant.

* Advanced finishing with intelligence - number of new options in EdgeCAM give greater control when finish machining.

The Profiling cycle offers multipass profiling that allows the use of semi-finishing and finishing passes in one command.

Enhanced start and end position controls allow the user to select the centre of an area when specifying the plunge and retract points.

This is an ideal method for pockets with little room for approach.

A new lace strategy and additional mill type control provide greater control and generate a consistent finish when machining shallow areas.

Flat land detection enables the user to finish ledges more precisely, by machining down to the specified Z offset from the top of island(s) and/or the base of pockets.

The Parallel Lace cycle has been enhanced to control the cut direction relative to the angle of the surface, using the new Up/Down Milling strategies.

Using these strategies the user can specify the optimum cutting strategy to suit the surface to be machined.

Constant Cusp and Projection cycles now offer greater control through contact angles that allow the user to focus the toolpath generated by the cycle on specific areas of the model.

EdgeCAM's extensive range of finishing cycles provides the right strategies for optimum surface quality for components of any complexity.

EdgeCAM has more potential to add to a company's profitability than any of its competitors due to the high degree of CAD integration and flexibility in toolpath creation, providing increased productivity and rapid return on investment.
