Pathtrace will use EdgeCAM to carry out live cutting trials on Richmond and Toyoda vertical machining centres to demonstrate the capability of EdgeCAM with advanced freeform milling applications.

Pathtrace will be showing the latest release of EdgeCAM, 10.0 at the UK's Productivity Partnerships 05 event, hosted by the 600 Centre at its Loughborough site from 8th to 10th November As part of the event, Pathtrace will be using EdgeCAM to carry out live cutting trials on Richmond and Toyoda vertical machining centres to demonstrate the capability of EdgeCAM with advanced freeform milling applications

A range of advanced cutting strategies will be on show including the use of automatic adaptive feedrates.

By monitoring the level of tool engagement during toolpath generation, EdgeCAM is able to dynamically vary the programmed feedrate to maintain optimum cutting conditions.

EdgeCAM will also be using its new full machine simulation to show comprehensive verification of the cutting process.

EdgeCAM machine simulation allows full machine tools to be accurately modelled and their movement shown throughout the machining process.

Pathtrace will also be previewing EdgeCAM's new multi-axis machining functionality.

A comprehensive range of simultaneous 4 and 5 axis strategies will be offered to tackle the production machining requirements of industries such as Aerospace.

5 axis strategies include swarf cutting for machining variable taper walls and sophisticated multi-surface finishing.

4 axis simultaneous will target complex rotary applications such as camshafts and blades.

All new machining strategies will be supported for both Mill and B-Axis Mill/Turn machine configurations and fully support solid or surface geometry.
