Edgecam chosen for high performance transmission
Faced with an ever-increasing demand for more complex machined surfaces, motor sports supplier, Hewland Engineering, has invested in Pathtrace's Edgecam system.
Improved boundary control and new rest roughing functionality minimise operator input and geometry creation on both roughing and finishing cuts, while a new tool optimisation routine ensures the most effective utilisation of cutting tools, particularly on multiple part set-ups.
EdgeCAM V11's improved handling of 3D models from a wide range of proprietary CAD systems provides faster operation and shorter programming times.
Pathtrace will also showcase EdgeCAM DNC.

A major development in the Edgecam portfolio is the launch of 'Solid Machinist' which will enable uses to directly machine Parasolid models inside the off-line programming software.
Directly machine Parasolid design models
EdgeCAM Solid Machinist for Parasolid from Pathtrace allows users to directly machine Parasolid design models such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks and other leading CAD systems
Based on Ethernet networking technology, the company's DNC (direct numerical control) solutions provide wireless machine tool communication, data management and data monitoring, offering an easy and reliable way to manage all shop floor communications.
Better control, enhanced tool and work tracking, streamlined operation and new CRM functionality, are among key features of the latest release of Jobshop's advanced manufacturing software.
Jobshop 9.3 incorporates a stock locking function that supports perpetual inventory checking, as well as improved stock holding and control.
A log feature provides enhanced tool tracking and utilisation and simplifies the maintenance of calibration data for all tooling in use.
"Jobshop gives manufacturers the tools to take full control of their processes, reduce operating costs and increase profitability," says group marketing director Peter Roost.
"Version 9.3 further increases functionality and streamlines operations across the system's purchase ordering, estimating, sales order, costing, data importing and accounts linking".
"EdgeCAM and Jobshop are both market leading systems in their own right, enabling manufacturing companies to compete strongly in today's tough global markets".
"Together, they provide integrated solutions that enable customers to maximise their productivity and competitive edge".
