The whirling heads employ multi inserts in a high speed rotating head presented to the work piece at an angle to the 'Z' axis.
The 'C' axis, or machine spindle, rotates slower while the whirling head moves in the 'Z' axis direction.
Coarse, deep threads can be produced in one hit.
Indexable, three edge inserts are changed in seconds making set up time quick and easy.
Long tapered threads present no problem.
Tool life is increased.
Surface finish is improved.
