Cost savings and increased efficiency in product handling can be made thanks to modifications to the Streamfeeder ST 1250 card feeder.

Cost savings and increased efficiency in product handling can be made thanks to modifications to the Streamfeeder ST 1250 card feeder Developed by Partners in Packaging (PiP) and to be unveiled at PPT Food North from June 14-15 at Bolton's (UK) Reebok Stadium (stand 542) the addition of specially designed 'ploughs' fitted to the feeders allow flat base cards to be formed in to U-Cards at the feeding stage

Demonstrations of ST 1250 utilising the modification will highlight the potential cost savings and the increased efficiency of product handling to be made by forming U-Cards at the time of product placement, said PiP.

Duncan Macintyre, the managing director of PiP, said: "This means costly adaptations to the in-feed of flowrappers to form U-Cards will become a thing of the past.

This is an exciting development that we are confident will be well received by the food industry." The ST1250 is said to be simple to mount on or over a variety of wrapping machines and is suitable for feeding items such as flat U cards and C cards at high speed with accuracy and reliability.

Also on show will be the Vepatec KA190 carton erector.

The KA Series is claimed to be capable of erecting a variety of carton styles and carton shapes in either corrugated or solid board.

The KA Series is also said to be suitable for ready meals, snack and confectionery products.

Another exhibit will be the Speed-Disp tray dispenser developed to handle closely stacked trays in a variety of shapes at claimed speeds of up to 120 trays per minute, depending on the tray design.

Rounding-off the PiP products on show, the Etipack Original 1.3 labeller applies labels up to 130mm wide at speeds of up to 50 metres per minute, said the company.

Said to be accurate to + or - 0.5mm placement, the Original is part of a range of print and apply labellers that are said to operate at linear speeds of up to 120 metres per minute.
