Herb Supplier's Tray De-Nesters Cut Costs
Lighthorne Herbs, suppliers of fresh cut herbs to major UK supermarkets, is benefiting from the installation of two twin lane IPP 290D tray de-nesters from Partners in Packaging (PIP).
Reaching claimed speeds of up to 200 labels per minute for print and apply labels, or up to 400 labels per minute applying labels only, the System 9 unit enables companies in markets such as pharmaceutical and cosmetics, to take information from a database and print individual details before the label is applied.
PiP managing director, Duncan Macintyre, said: "The New System 9 reduces the requirement to stock large numbers of carton designs.
Different label and artwork designs, together with different bar codes and sequential number and date codes can be applied to blank cartons as and when required." The PPMA Show is being staged at the UK's NEC, near Birmingham, from September 26-28.
