The three-flap carton is then ploughed and glued closed.
The specially designed carton sidewalls have a high frame in to which two sections are removed to accommodate the suspended blister packed vials.
The sachet, booklet and sheet of labels are then inserted.
Duncan Macintyre PiP's managing director, said: 'The installation of this bespoke cartoning line has more than doubled the throughput of DePuy's packaging line, whilst at the same time creating a pack that ensures optimum product protection, and improved appearance.' The booklet and labels are fed using Streamfeeder ST1250 friction feeders, which feed the products from a stack, automatically singulating them and feeding them in to the carton prior to it being closed.
