PDM pulls in mould makers

A PDM - Plastics Design and Moulding Expo product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team May 15, 2006

Mouldmakers from the UK and beyond are signing up to exhibit at the Plastics Design and Moulding 2006 event (PDM 06), which takes place at Telford International Centre on 26-28 September.

More than 20 tooling suppliers have already booked stands at the show, including companies based in the UK, Switzerland and Taiwan.

They have been attracted by PDM's focus on taking plastics mouldings from concept through to production, which means that the event is very relevant to their businesses.

The debut PDM exhibition, which took place in April 2005, attracted 1,282 people involved in the specification and purchasing of moulds/tooling.

Not surprisingly, the vast majority of mouldmakers that took part in the debut event have re-booked their stands for this year.

"PDM 05 was well organised, attracted the right quality visitors and introduced us to new customers" says Ian Amos, Director of mouldmaker Sprint Tool and Die.

"More than this, it also generated enthusiasm and excitement for the plastics industry again".

"PDM 05 worked for us, and on that basis, we've signed up for PDM 06, and are very much looking forward to the event.

Other mouldmakers joining Sprint Tool and Die at PDM 06 include Algram, Associated Toolmakers, Barkley Plastics, DMS Plastics, Formaplex, Hi-Tech, Inpress Plastics, ITI Kirkby, Kebo, 3D Lasertec, Marfortec Tools, MNB Mould Services, Mould and Matic, Petford Tools, Protool Manufacturing, PTP Group/Fenton Precision Engineering, , Superite, Taiwan Mold Tool Co , Tritec, Waldon - Soehner Group and WH Smith Tools.

In addition to mouldmakers, PDM 06 will feature a wide range of allied products and services.

These will include suppliers of mould materials and components, design software, surface treatment for tools and rapid product development services.

Space is selling fast for the second PDM event, which takes place at Telford International Centre on 26-28 September 2006.

More than 75% of space has already been reserved; for the latest exhibitor list and floorplan, visit www.pdmevent.com.

PDM 06 will feature three halls of value-for-money exhibition space, daily breakfast briefings and a full conference programme aimed at attracting a high-level audience from across the design and moulding sectors.

A number of other added value initiatives will also be taking place to support the event's pulling-power.

Shell scheme stands cost from as little as GBP1,140.
