Bayer, Victrex and Polyone at PDM

A PDM - Plastics Design and Moulding Expo product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team May 23, 2006

Plastics Design and Moulding 2006 is attracting more global brand heavyweights from the materials sector to take part with the latest sign-ups including Bayer MaterialScience, Victrex and PolyOne.

These companies will join a host of other leading polymer producers, including DuPont, Solvay Advanced Polymers, EMS-Grivory and Kraiburg.

In addition, polymer compounders and distributors will be well represented at the event with Albis, Distrupol, Plastribution, Ashland, Matrix Polymers, Micropol, Polymers Direct, PTS, RTP and Ultrapolymers joining a cast-list of over 150 exhibitors for the event.

The strong attendance by OEMs and design groups at last year's event is proving a compelling reason to attend, especially for the growing band of first-time exhibitors.

John Ellis, country representative polycarbonates, UK and Ireland at Bayer MaterialScience, said "The main driver for us is to increase our penetration in the OEM sector and among designers".

"We think PDM is a good vehicle to achieve that and a good place to meet people.

Victrex is keen to extend awareness of the full potential if its PEEK materials and views PDM 06 as the event to achieve this.

David Adkin, Victrex market developer in the UK, explained, "Victrex is exhibiting at PDM 06 because it embraces design-to-manufacture".

"We believe we have to target designers with our products.

"With its strong focus on product design, PDM is proving very appealing to materials suppliers".

"It's really encouraging to have so many leading players already signed up for this year's event" said Karen Hewitt, group sales manager for Emap Maclaren's Polymer Group.

PDM 06 takes place at the Telford International Centre on 26-28 September 2006.

It will feature three halls of value-for-money exhibition space and a full conference programme aimed at attracting a high-level audience from across the design and moulding sectors.

A number of other added value initiatives will also be taking place to support the event's pulling-power.
