System tests intelligent pneumatic valve
controls
A functional test system checks the individual solenoid channel control functions of intelligent pneumatic valve controllers and their current bus status.
A functional test system supplied by the Peak Group is being used by controls manufacturer IMI Norgren to boost productivity and flexibility at its manufacturing plant in Lichfield, Staffs The system is being used to test intelligent pneumatic valve controllers, which are produced by IMI Norgren in a variety of configurations to link with different industrial bus interfaces

Universal testing system is highly modular
Universal functional test system, based on a series of modules that can be configured to meet the manufacturing test requirements of a variety of industries, bring a high degree of modularity.
PCB testing for satellite navigation systems
Peak Production Equipment has supplied a IVU2-J test system to check that PCBs in satellite navigation, traffic data and vehicle tracking systems at Trafficmaster have been correctly manufactured.
Fast connect for instrumentation and test devices
The Peak Group has introduced the G12 Mass InterConnect which offers a low-profile solution for rapid connectivity between instrumentation and devices under test.
Based on Peak's ruggedised PC-based hardware and TestMaster software, it tests not only the individual solenoid channel control functions of the controllers but also the current bus status by monitoring the operation of multi-coloured LED indicators.
Bus interfaces handled by the controllers and the Peak test system include DeviceNET, CANopen, Profibus, AS-i and Norgren IMI's proprietary NorgrenBus.
The test system accesses each of these via PC-based communications cards, and monitors the LED indicator status with a built-in optical detector system.
It also measures the current flow in the solenoid which operates the pneumatic valve.
In-circuit testing is also carried out to check for open and short circuits on up to 24 pins on the controller board connector interfaces.
The testing of these connector pins uses a multiplexing technique, and the result is compared against results from a known 'golden board'.
The modular philosophy behind Peak's test systems meant that the wide mechanical and electrical variations in IMI Norgren1s products could be accommodated by a number of different heads being supplied for use with the basic test fixture.
The different heads are electrically identifiable by the functional test system to provide verification of compatibility of the fixture head and the product under test before the test commences.
