Driver of highly successful lean manufacturing initiative at American Standard, Gleditsch brings 25 years of manufacturing systems development experience Pelion Systems, a leading provider of lean flow automation software that enables demand-driven enterprises, announced today that one of the industry's foremost experts in lean manufacturing methodologies, David Gleditsch, has joined the company as chief technology officer (CTO) Gleditsch, who directed the highly successful lean flow transformation at American Standard Companies, will oversee the continued architectural development of Pelion Systems' Collaborative Flow Manufacturing? (CFM) product line

Pelion, with customers that include Nissan Forklift, Detector Electronics (a division of Kidde plc), and Brooks Automation, offers a modular suite of software and services designed exclusively to help customers improve financial performance by transforming to demand-driven enterprises.

Having spent more than 25 years developing manufacturing systems for companies that include Trane, Johnson and Johnson, Westinghouse Air Brake, Carrier and Hewlett-Packard, Gleditsch spent seven years with American Standard, where he served as corporate vice president of manufacturing technology.

As the global leader of the Demand Flow Technology transformation, Gleditsch and his team helped triple inventory turnover rates while doubling sales that resulted in a net working capital savings of $800 million.

In total, Gleditsch oversaw lean flow implementations at more than 85 plants and certified 25 plants for attaining world-class flow capability.

Gleditsch also has experience with the rollout and integration of Six Sigma processes.
