Die spotting press brings bedding-in
savings
In this die splitter/spotting press, the ability to work on tool high spots and with a guaranteed parallel raise and lower of the top tool, have provided significant savings.
Falkland Engineering of Burnley has reduced down time and increased quality by utilising a Hedin Lagan Die Splitter/Spotting Press The Splitter/Spotting Press has a capacity to handle tools 3 metres x 2 metres with a maximum top tool of 10 tonnes and a downward spotting pressure of 500kN
A vast reduction in tool maintenance time has been achieved over the traditional method of raising, rotating and lowering the top tools using crane and hoist.
During the bedding in process, the ability to work on tool high spots whilst in the machine and with a guaranteed parallel raise and lower of the top tool, have provided Falkland with significant savings, and increased quality.
Commercial savings are not the only benefit, the Health and Safety officer is pleased too.
