PFM a hit with popcorn maker
PFM Packaging Machinery 's growing reputation, across the Irish Sea has brought the company yet more recognition, this time for packing popcorn.
In the latest of a number of orders for PFM, Golden Popcorn, the family run business which is Northern Ireland's leading manufacturer of the cinema snack, has invested in a PFM Zenith and an MBP 12 multihead weigher to increase output at its base in Newtownabbey, County Antrim Golden Popcorn has for the past 10 years been producing popcorn for cinemas across Northern Ireland

The directors did look at rival machines, including one from an Australian company which has a strong foothold in the province already but chose PFM, because of its competitive price.
Lucy added ''It is a very sophisticated piece of machinery and we did experience a few teething troubles, common in small companies like ours with no resident engineer, however, we are getting used to it and can now happily turn out 10,000 bags per day,'' Golden Popcorn's decision to purchase the PFM Zenith follows in the footsteps of a large number of other companies, owing to its high degree of flexibility and versatility.
This popular vertical form fill and seal packaging machine, produces closed packs in a variety of different formats with three seals from a roll of heat-sealable material, making it the number one choice for numerous businesses.
The MBP12 chosen by Golden Popcorn to fit with PFM's Zenith is one of an extensive range of weighers from PFM.
The weigher is capable of running at higher speeds than that of its competitors which will enable the company to effortlessly continue with any further diversification plans.
In reaction to the Golden Popcorn order, PFM's, sales and operations director, Chris Bolton says: "I am delighted that Golden Popcorn has purchased a Zenith packaging machine and Multihead Weigher MBP12".
"The Zenith's high productivity with speeds of up to 60 packs per minute and its resilient structure along with the MBP12's quieter operation and greater weight control makes them firm favourites amongst buyers."
