The Polymer Cluster for the West Midlands' Spring newsletter features details of assistance for local businesses to go to the world's leading plastics exhibition, K 2007.

The UK's leading change agent for local plastics and rubber industry development, the Polymer Cluster for the West Midlands has published its Spring newsletter - featuring details of new resources, local success stories and outward bound assistance for local businesses to go to the world's leading plastics exhibition, K 2007, held in Dusseldorf this autumn The Polymer Cluster is working with UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) to give financial assistance to businesses who wish to visit the K 2007 exhibition from October 24-31 this year

A variety of options are available, from subsidised travel and accomodation to shared stand space for up to twelve companies.

Says Paul Hackney, Polymer Cluster champion, 'all the signs are that K 2007 will be an intense and lively event for the worldwide exhibition.

For innovators, researchers and those with new polymer ideas, products and technology to promote - the Dusseldorf exhibition could be a very fertile meeting ground.' Phil Challinor, UKTI's Head of International Trade for Shropshire has full details of all outward bound packages to Germany.

Hackney advises West Midland companies to get in touch as soon as possible since demand for places is likely to be high.

Wolverhampton innovators Washa are also featured in the Polymer Cluster's Spring publication.

Assisted by the Polymer Cluster, Washa has created a revolutionary plastic device - the Rolla Washa - for cleaning paint rollers that saves up to 85% on water and 70% on time.

Brett Smart, Washa 's Managing Director says that the new product is 'sure to have a big impact on professional painters and decorators - with spin off opportunities in the domestic DIY Market.' The Polymer Cluster helped Washa to access the services in advanced tooling techniques at the University of Wolverhampton's Innovative Product Development Centre.

Prototypes were developed before the final sample product was created and patents have now been applied for.

The Polymer Cluster is funded by the European Regional Development Fund; is a Wolverhampton Telford Technology Corridor project, and is housed within the University of Wolverhampton on its Telford campus.
