News Release from: Phoenix Contact | Subject: CC 2.5 THR Combicon male headers
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk Editorial Team on 07 April 2004

THR male headers suit lead-free SMD
processes

THR male headers in 5.08mm pitch can be integrated into the SMD process and are available with and without side walls, wheel or screw flanges, and in horizontal and vertical designs.

New from Phoenix Contact, the CC 2.5 THR Combicon male headers in 5.08mm pitch can be integrated into the SMD process They are available with and without side walls, wheel or screw flanges, and in horizontal and vertical designs

2 to 12 pin layouts come as single-piece components while 13 to 25 pin layouts are available using Two-in-One technology.

The Two-in-One THR male headers are composed of two segments on the PCB.

Each segment is packaged as tape-on-reel and is narrower on the respective interior side walls.

This leaves room for the housings to be mounted and placed in series without coming into contact.

Following reflow soldering, the headers have the same properties as single-piece headers.

These connectors are easily integrated into existing production processes, because they are compatible with the mounting process and require the same process equipment as that used for male headers with smaller numbers of pins.

Furthermore, this generation of male headers can be processed in lead-free SMD processes in the future.

The expected demands for stability at high temperatures and the WEEE requirements (waste from electric and electronic equipment) are all fulfilled.
