Requirements for processing and finishing printed products are becoming more and more specific and diverse, demanding either too much labor or too many machines

Observing this need in the marketplace, German machine manufacturer, ROPI, has developed an innovative line of folding machinery that is suitable for many different applications In order to reduce heat and noise generation at its facility, ROPI partnered with PIAB to integrate COAX vacuum technology directly into the body of its folding equipment

Flexibility for handling small, varied boxes ROPI's folding machines are utilized by printers and folding box producers for a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical and cosmetics.

In folding boxes used for smaller products such as makeup products and pill bottles it is important to have a very flexible machine that can handle all sizes and weights of the box-building material.

In order to accomplish this objective, ROPI removed its existing mechanical vacuum pumps and integrated a COAX Si 32-3 cartridge into the suction plate of the machine, adding a blow-off function to separate the stack of papers used to construct the boxes.

Preventing contamination through cartridge integration.

"That there was an alternative to the loud, heat-generating, mechanical pump we were currently using was a very exciting proposal," said ROPI Executive Director, Rolf Pitzen.

Aside from the issues of heat and noise, the COAX cartridges effectively prevent contaminants from entering the folding machine, as they are integrated into the body of the machine, unexposed to the outside environment.

Easy integration allows for cost-effective installation.

The simple installation of the COAX cartridge requires only two steps - drilling a hole into the machine, and inserting the cartridge into this hole.

The ease of installation struck a chord with ROPI.

"It fit right into our system".

"There was no need to spend money on an independent installation procedure".

"Integration could be completed right as the machine was being manufactured." Putting a stop to stoppage is possible Because the COAX cartridges do not require lubrication, maintenance is no longer a concern for ROPI, as its new machines can now run smoothly without stoppage.

This feature has decreased upkeep and downtime costs leading to increased customer satisfaction.
